The Asus is available with an Intel Core i7-9750H or Intel Xeon E-2276M. It has NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q graphics and it targets creative pros and those who do 2D CAD and 3D rendering.
The laptop has a wide gamut matte IPS display, WiFi 6 and a trackpad that turns into a number pad with the touch of a button.
Starting at $2,000, it’s a more affordable alternative to the HP ZBook and Dell Precision lines of mobile workstation laptops.
Narrow screen bezels are nothing new for today’s laptops, but the Asus ProArt StudioBook Pro 17 still draws attention for the stunning 17-inch display packed into a chassis that almost looks small enough for a 15-inch laptop. In fact, Asus claims that what it calls a NanoEdge bezel gives the Pro 17 a screen-to-body ratio of 84 percent.
Thankfully, the Pro 17 doesn’t rest on its good looks: It’s a solid laptop for content creators, packing a superior, color-accurate screen, and with just a few demerits that keep it from the top of its class.
THE BOTTOM LINE
The Asus ProArt StudioBook Pro 17 is a visually impressive desktop replacement for creative pros. The combination of a six-core Xeon processor, Nvidia Quadro RTX graphics, and a gorgeous Pantone-validated display can handle just about any of your color-critical video editing or 3D rendering needs.
